When summer heat sets in, there’s nothing better than a cool refreshing motorcycle ride along beautiful Lake Superior in Upper Michigan. The Keweenaw Peninsula has hundreds of miles of secluded, low traffic scenic roads to enjoy. The far northern stretch of M-26 along the lake is particularly breathtaking. Some points of interest include:
- Mandan Road out to the tip of the Keweenaw Peninsula
- The Mary McDonald Preserve
- Copper Harbor
- James Dorian Rooks Memorial Nature Sanctuary
- Hunter’s Point Park
- Helmut and Candis Stern Preserve
- Eagle Harbor Lighthouse
The wrap it up along Great Sand Bay the wind back down through Houghton. Pick up some basic supplies, maybe some coffee, bacon and eggs for breakfast and head down M-26 a short distance further and stop and stay the night with us. Each units includes 3 bedrooms, two baths and a fully equipped kitchen. A great place to end the day with a cocktail in hand as your group of riders share all the beauty of the days ride. ATV riders will find many scenic trails for equal enjoyment.
